About EMP

Etobicoke Musical Productions is a not-for-profit, community organization where a love for the arts takes centre stage. We strive to provide our members with opportunities to perform, direct, choreograph, produce, and design quality music theatre. In doing so it is our mission to enrich the lives of our members and patrons by fostering an accessible outlet to engage in the performing arts.

Etobicoke Musical Productions evolved out of the enthusiasm and energy of a small group of people with a shared passion – musical theatre. Under the name of York Peel Music Society, the first production, Oklahoma!, was staged in the Spring of 1966. By the Fall of 1968 the Group’s name was changed to The Etobicoke Light Opera Company and in 1975, we officially became Etobicoke Musical Productions.
